The Hotel staff were very friendly and entertaining and nothing was to much trouble for them. The food was excellent and good value. Most of all the Hotel was situated in the town and ideal for entertainment within a short distance. I enjoyed my visit and would stay there again.

Breakfast was started earlier than usual on the sunday to accomodate those wanting to leave early to get to the grand prix. Larger hotels would not offer that flexibilty. Also good location within Rugby, and access to M1.
Had to park in the ASDA car park. Only a 2 min walk but would have preferred it if they had their own/secure car park.

The location
The web site depicts a rather different picture than the reality of the premises. The reception area has a sign that apologises for the refubishment work but in reality a little paint is not what is required here. The Room was shoddy, There was some paintwork that was new (one wall) and some new pictures-not what I call a refurbished room and certainly not what was depicted at the time and the paintwork on the radiator was appalling, that carpet looked as if it required to be cleaned. The bathroom resembled an old hospital and was not what was expected.

ideal downtown location close to what we wanted to see with pubs and good restaurant close by, lovely pub setting with good breakfast included in the price
we were not told that the hotel was under renovation, certainly needs upgrading which was in progress while we were there, old style pub type hotel with dated room facilities

Lovely cosy and pleasant place, I appreciated very attentive personnel.
The beds were big, I slept well. It had incredible location with access to Chapel nearby. The hotel was in a pretty nice area, just off restaurant, bars, restaurants and shops and Rugby town centre.

Good value, but not flawless
We wanted a late-night bite and found some super cheap pub food. The waiter was nice despite mix-ups with our order. The food was tasty when it finally arrived, but the service was a bit all over the place. The dining area was quiet, nice, but you could tell why it was empty. Could use some more attention to detail.

It was in the right place on my journey and well priced. I did also enjoy sitting by a log fire having supper.

The staff were incredibly friendly, but I faced constant disturbances from conversations in adjacent rooms and an annoying church bell early in the morning.

The lady in reception was very kind and changed my room without a problem .
Sorry to say but the room first allocated asked for none smoking the room I recived you could smell the odour outside the room tell tail signs burn marks on the floor outside the window a hundred cigi buts I work in the catering industery and have worked in that hotel saome thirty years ago the area where they were letting rooms was then the staff area looks like it still is second room a little better and in the morning it does not help when someone from housekeeping is standing at reception asking why room 7 was of and then telling the receptionest what do they expect for 50 pounds

A very friendly welcome from both staff and the owner. Its a value for money hotel with good food and service,I would have absolutely no hesitation in staying there again and will do so on my next golfing trip to the area. They also took the decision not to charge my playing partner for a no show as he was standed in dorset due to the floods. That was a very generous gesture. So the least we can do is to return on our next visit.
